View Full Version : Another Newbie ?, different hood style
R.B. Oct 27th, 08, 06:07 PM Gentlemen, I hope you will continue to be patient. I am not up to speed on Camaro. I think that I saw somebody on television build a 69 Camaro, mainly from Goodmark Industries or their supplier Dynacorn, pretty much from scratch. So far, so good. I thought that they used a hood that was slightly dished down in the center, with an opening, somewhat like the ones on Cudas back in the day. Maybe they were building for SEMA, don't recall. Is there such a hood in the aftermarket, or would I have imagined it? Thanks for your indulgence.
Cheers, R.B.
batboy Oct 27th, 08, 06:24 PM It would just about have to be a fiberglass hood. I vaguely remember seeing a photo of something similar to that, but of course I can't find it now. I know they make a L88 style hood and a Stingray style hood (both in fiberglass) if you are looking for something a bit different from the usual flat, cowl induction, or SS hoods.
PROZ11 Oct 28th, 08, 05:39 AM If you are talking about this hood it is available from Year One. Others may sell it too.

R.B. Oct 28th, 08, 08:46 PM Thanks Mark, that's it! Thanks to everyone else also. BTW, call me a follower, but I like the colour, interior and just about everything else. Hope the owner doesn't mind too much being copied. They say, "Imitation is the highest form of flattery." Cheers, R.B,
Garfields Maro Oct 29th, 08, 02:56 AM Is a cool lookin hood, don't look like it fits too great tho. Looks like too much arch.....low in the front and high in the center:( maybe just my imagination?

The pictures I posted of the hood are from the Year One Camaro. They have since added a (under hood) blower. It is a beautiful car. Although I went a different route, I used a few other ideas I saw on that car. That's where I got the idea (and seat covers) for my car. You can check the full build of the car here: http://www.yearone.com/enthusiast/articles/69camaro/69camaro.html

R.B. Oct 29th, 08, 05:46 PM Wow! This is great. Thanks again. R.B.
prostreet69camaro Oct 29th, 08, 08:03 PM My friend bought that hood about 4 years ago. It had to have alot of work done to it to fit. Just like Gary says above. It does not fit very well. Maybe they are making better hoods now.
redfire69 Oct 30th, 08, 05:18 AM I think that hood is exclusively year one. Unique performance also used them on the Foose 69.
