I am going to repair the quarter panel on my 69 camaro myself. I am going to only replace the part that needs to be replaced, instead of replacing the whole shell. The shell from factory is in perfect condition, except this one spot. I am curious on what type of weld i should do. I have an arc welder, but feel thats to heavy duty for the thin sheet metal work. What type of weld do you think is appropriate/ I will also be replacing my inner wheel well. Twig Weld? Suggesttionsss?! thanks!!

twig welds don't hold very well and tend to burst into flames. I'd suggest using a Mig with gas.

This is what I'm dealing with:

As you can see in the second picture, the tip of the quarter (top of the picture) is chipping. I dont want to mess up the stock body lines, should I just cuz about 3 inches up and replace it with a new piece?
Any suggestion on where to start. Methods and experience is highly appreciated!
