While mini tubbing a 67, once I removed the inner tub I noticed the outer tub has rust on the front and rear of it. My question is has anyone replaced a outer tub without removing the quarter panel? If so how does the aftermarket piece fit? And how many extra hours do you think it takes?
Thanks

Boy, that'd be tough to say the least. It'd actually be easier to remove the quarter. Not much room to work with in that area. They all need tweaking to fit correctly-some more than others. Alot of it also depends on the car. Things can move a bit in 40 years.

Agree that would be no fun at all. Esp where the outer meets the quarter. If the rust is minimal maybe you could just patch the outer. Otherwise you will probably need to drill through the quarter lip at every spot weld to free it from the outer WW. Good luck.

I've done it.
It's tough but it can be done with the quarter on.
