Finishing up a new 12 bolt 3.73 gears for my 69 camaro. What is the correct break in proceedure and how important is it????

Run it on jack stands in both directions for a few minutes to get oil into all of the important stuff. Drive it for a few miles and let it cool completely. Drive it for about 1/2 hour and let it cool again. Then take it easy for a few days.

Thanks for advice. start and cooled downed 3 times. all sounds good. i am surprise that the improvement was not as radical as expected. went from 2.90 8 bolt to a 3.73 12 bolt. runs around 500-600 higher rpms on the highway. but also changed the mono to multi springs and rides much better....
