OK, I was going to keep my camaro in my garage but because my house is for sale and I will be working for 1 month in FL and 2 months in CA I decided it would be safer not there. I wanted it somewhere that I can trust people to look after it so I think I am goign to leave it in CT with my parents. Now the only problem is that it will be out side. Now the paint is shot at this point and the car has been sitting out side for the past 40 years and it will be painted in the spring. It does leak into the truck from around the rear window so I was looking for a good cover, any ideas??? anyother tips for outside storage??

Any one of the outdoor covers from California Car Cover would be an excellent choice.

Buy a good 100.00 car port from Pep boys, and a car cover and some cheap tarps to throw over it. Can never be to careful and the carport will atleast keep the bulk of the weather off the top and the others will keep the rest off

I know people that spray WD-40 on the underside and swear that it helps.
I have not tried that, yet.

Where in CT? I'm in East Haven. If your close I can keep an eye on it. Iwould buy a small bag of charcoal and put it in the interior with one end open. Helps to absorb moisture. Next I would put some mothballs on a plastic plate to keep the mice out. Spray any exposed bare metal with Boeshield T-9. This is available at most marine stores. It clings to the metal and washes off with hot water and dawn.

I have been using a Car Jacket for years here in Michigan. It comes with several bags of desiccant. The car comes out of the bag in the spring (or several springs) later looking like the day it went into storage. Rotors are shiney, no dust, etc.

One year I did have mice chew through the bag so it doesn't hurt to put some dryer sheets around inside and outside the bag.

One other cheap tip: I always put baggies over the ends of the exhaust pipes and tape a plastic garbage bag over the air cleaner/carburator. On a V8 engine, there is always at least one cylinder that has both the exhaust and intake valves open. This allows a free exchange of air up and down the exhaust system and up through that one cylinder and through the carburator. That is why when an engine if found to be "frozen" it is typically only one cylinder that is rusted and locking the engine from turning. A car jacket would probably minimize this from happening but I do both.
