Was it an option ( in 72) or do all vinyl top cars have a chrome mld around the door opening ( drip rail).
I took the Vinyl off my car years ago and am about to have it replaced and looking at photos I see a mlding on some cars.
any help would be great.
I think I want one on there they look nice, but...
Thanks guys

In 1972 there were 23918 camaros produced with vinyl tops. There were 22477 camaros produced that came with the z21 option that includes the roof drip mouldings. I guess they did not all have the drip rails. Interesting question though. I am going to research it more and will let you know what I come up with.

They had chrome moldings on them to cover up the raw edge of the vinyl top, unless the top is tucked under the weather strips. In 32 years of doing upholstery I have yet to see a camaro with a vinyl top and not have chrome drip rails, but thats not saying that some of them did not have it.
