View Full Version : what's the new Camaro gonna cost? okiemark Nov 7th, 08, 10:07 AM as I sit here watching the news of G.M. fixin' to go belly-up, I wonder what the new Camaro is gonna go for? wiskeesour Nov 7th, 08, 10:19 AM Might as well be a billion dollars. I cant even pay attention at the moment. The base coupe better be comparable to the mustang or, once again, GM will kick itself in the potatoes. Base coupe V6 in the 17K range I would assume. I hear its the "Lil engine that could". DjD Nov 7th, 08, 11:43 AM The info's been out for quite a while. Check the 5th gen forum here for all kinds of new camaro info like this... http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=143560 keypilot Nov 7th, 08, 02:16 PM with such poor sales you would think they would offer it at a good price but i hear the dealers are adding a ton over sticker. Not at the dealers yet so hard to say but I tend to agree local greed could have a bad impact on things... The cool thing is that Camaro5.com has two lists going: gouging dealers and non-gouging dealers. wiskeesour Nov 7th, 08, 04:28 PM The cool thing is that Camaro5.com has two lists going: gouging dealers and non-gouging dealers. Can you post that link? PsyDoc Nov 7th, 08, 04:32 PM Sure, here are the direct links: MSRP or below dealers: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=621 Price Gouging dealers: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=622 wiskeesour Nov 7th, 08, 04:45 PM Thanks Mark!! BigBlock1969RS Nov 7th, 08, 05:00 PM Kelly Blue book now has the Camaro up: http://www.kbb.com/kbb/NewCars/2010_Chevrolet_Camaro_Coupe.aspx I always liked their price configuration tool. 69Project Nov 7th, 08, 05:52 PM If you go to GM Inside News Forum, it will list the prices and prices for options. The V6 Camaro is going to be in the low 20's. It has a 300 hp V6 so it will hang with a Mustang GT and get 27 mpg. So while a bit pricey it is a whale of deal with the technology/performance etc. V8's will be in the low 30's so it will be between the Mustang and the Challenger. You are getting a world class V8 with 422 hp, world class transmission either a 6 spd auto or 6 spd man, independent rear suspension and disc brakes all the way around. That's stuff most of us can only hope to upgrade our cars to if we are in the modification crowd on this forum. Jeff H Nov 7th, 08, 06:10 PM Try mid ti high 30's for the SS Camaro and that's without the gouging. The 2000-2002 Camaro SS cars were in the mid 30's as well so it's not too bad of a jump, but it's too high for a Camaro IMO. You can get a Vette under $50K easy so the Camaro SS should be closer to low 30's to have a chance. DjD Nov 7th, 08, 06:17 PM Try mid ti high 30's for the SS Camaro and that's without the gouging. MSRP - LS = $22,995 (base 300hp V6 stick) / SS = $30,995 (base 420hp V8 stick) 2002 Z28 MSRP $23,000 (base 310-315hp stick) Lost in the 60's Nov 8th, 08, 09:01 AM as I sit here watching the news of G.M. fixin' to go belly-up, I wonder what the new Camaro is gonna go for? That's assuming they will even begin production. You can pre-order them from a dealer, but the GM website has a disclaimer that there is NO GUARANTEE THAT THE VEHICLE WILL BE IN ANY PARTICULAR ORDER OR EVEN BE PRODUCED. BigBlock1969RS Nov 8th, 08, 11:23 AM With GM running low on cash they seem to be doing everything they can to avoid Bankruptcy in the next couple month: GM reports running low on cash; it ends Chrysler merger talks http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-fi-autos8-2008nov08,0,6480209.story mnm99 Nov 8th, 08, 12:18 PM Anyone watch the news Friday about the losses from GM? 2.5 BILLION last month just to keep afloat! So there pretty much taking savings just to keep in buisness. They were saying unless something happend in the next 2 months GM may even have to shut down! Imagine that. I'm sure our trusty government will bail them out too:rolleyes:, then all of us will pay for the new Camaro. KevinK7 Nov 8th, 08, 02:44 PM Here's a great price configuration tool that the guys over at CamaroZ28.com put together. http://www.camaroz28.com/camarobuilder/index.shtml It allows you to select the options you want, ...and summarizes it all automatically. Pretty cool... As for the state of business right now for GM, ...If they go down, ...we are ALL in serious trouble. It is indeed a scary time for our economy... Kevin jd502 Nov 8th, 08, 05:41 PM when do the convs. comeout? what type of price? KevinK7 Nov 8th, 08, 07:37 PM when do the convs. comeout? what type of price? It's supposed to be the next model year (2011), ...but with the economic challenges, ...I don't know. Since pricing seems somewhat close to what the 4th gens were on the coupes, ...I suspect we'll see similar with the verts. My guess, ..is a +/- $5 adder. (that just my guess...). I've been given a lot of info with the focus group stuff, ...but they didn't much get into specifics with pricing. |
