I ordered a pair of repop engine block lift rings from NPD - I painted them up, and went to install them, but they don't fit...

I really doubt I have any recourse in returning them becuase they're painted now... but has anyone else had this problem on a DZ intake?

The rear one looks like it would bolt up fine, but short of grinding a good portion off the back of the front one, the front bolt will never line up... they do, however, seem to work just fine size-wise on a friend's 350 intake...

Anyone know where I might be able to source a set for my car that will work and look right?

can you post a photo of the rings and the problem spot?

Orignals are not hard to come by...

Eventually yes... right now, no... unfortunately the car is stored elsewhere...

The "square" part of the lift ring with the hole in the middle, where it would bolt through onto the intake, is too big, and the back of it hits the manifold long before the hole would line up...

The front drivers side one should be the single bolt type and it goes on the 2nd bolt from the front. The rear one is fairly generic and is used on many small blocks from 67-82 ?. Not sure if NPD brackets are correct or not. They should also be natural finish not orange. FYI. Hope this helps. Mike.

Yeah, the front is a single bolt type to go in the 2nd bolt from the front... it just is too big... anyone have any good pics of some correct/original ones as a comparison?

I know the discussion keeps going back and forth whether they should be natural or orange... and the more I look into it, I found something somplace indicating that some cars didn't even retain them at all... dunno what they definitive answer is, if there even is one...

If you pm me your email address I will try to send you some pictures of some originals tonite. Regarding being painted or not, I have a original 6,000 mile Z28 engine ( heavily discussed on yenkos.net) and they are natural. I believe cast intake cars were painted chevy orange. My own 42,000 mile Z28 has natuaral lift brackets also. 06A car.
