This jack assembly was in my car when I bought it, but I don't think it's for a Camaro.
Any idea what it's from and what it might be worth?

It looks like it's for a later (late 70's) model car with the "notched" holes in the bumper....

I think the slot is for a load rest, but definitely not for a first gen Camaro. All the masts for them were trapezoidal in cross section.

That is a late 50's / early 60's style Jack - used very frequently in Cadillac and other full size cars.
The bumper support hook is missing.

There does seem to be a part missing where it would hook onto the bumper.
There is an A stamped into the base, any chance that means A body?
I am cleaning out the garage, do you think it has any value, or is it just scrap metal?

Everything has value.
That style was used in the 57 Chevy also.
A - is the manufacturer mark,
Based on the tire iron curve - that was from a caddy.
$50

look carefully on the ratchet portion, the rivets have numbers on them which relate to the date

Thanks for the replies so far.
No numbers on the rivets, just ring marks.
There is a A and Z stamped on the base, and a 8 and K stamped on the jack itself.
I found the load rest, anyone recognize it?

Anyone recognize the load rest or date code?
Firebird maybe?
Month K of 1958, 1968, 1978?

You can rule out 78. I don't think anything used a jack with that profile or a load rest bracket by then. I believe all GM cars had trapazoid shaped jack and slots in the bumper to accomadate the hook.
