Did the 1969 Camaro rear drums have fins all the way across the brake drum or did it stop and have a smooth band going all the way around. 12 bolt rear.

I believe the fins go all the way across... I've got some pictures at home...

Correct, no fins on the drums.

GM did make Aluminum Steel Lined Drums with Finns. I don't know if they were over the counter items or could be specially ordered on a new car. My 70Z happens to have the Aluminum Drums with Finns and both the 69 and 70 pretty well shared the same drive train.

I think in 69 the finned brake drums were on Buicks, or Olds. I believe all the Camaros had smooth drums.

The first gen FRONT drums were finned, however.....

The front drums also where not finned....
If they are they have been replaced at some time.

'69 front drums were finned (photo below), 67's weren't - not sure about '68. :)

Thers an orginal stocker 69 sb sitting in a workshop not far from here, been there for yrs, waiting for restore....I have often used to to measure stuff, find the holes for when replacing hood lining...It has un finned front and rear...the shoes look orginal to the milage as does the wear on the drums....and it is still has the orginal rims.
