Just cleaned and glass beeded 5 rally wheels and have them ready to paint. Checked many old threads concerning restoration but did not see if anyone has used POR-15 as a primer or not. I was considering it especially in the front crevice that is so hard to get spray paint adequately in there and the back side and then finish off with with more normal std. operaton procedure. Sure this has been done but was wondering how it went. Any thoughts, good bad or different?
thanks in advance---:beers:

This I think would be one area I wounld not use Por-15 it doesn't do well in the UV department.

This sounds like the way to go not por-15....

I'm not a fan of POR15 but if it's covered with a topcoat UV is not an issue.

This is what I am doing on my second set of ralleys. Only I am using the OEM argent-green for the YHs. They should outlast the car if done this way.

If you care, factory rallys had argent overspray which came through the slots onto the back. Maybe it's just me, but I had a hard time trying to make it look "accidental". Did a lot of practicing before I was satisfied.

Actually the rattle cans worked well for me to get the overspray. But after a little time on the road it doesn't matter much. Maybe for a show car.
