I'll start, I'd say around 17-25k, depending on the original documentation, and the reciepts on the restoration and motor.

I'll have to ask about the docs, I know he bought in Cali and drove it home. He own's a auto parts store so the motor docs ect is no problem. He did remove the smog eqip and tossed it :( , had the org carb recolored and the ex manifolds ceramic coated.
Far as the resto, I did all the work other than the motor / trans

What's the market like in WA? I'd guess the price would be more in the $20Ks, close to $30K if it is really nice. Does he have a price in mind that he "needs" to get for it? For an L30/Glide car, I don't think the docs are all that important, nor are the receipts.

I had guessed 20K max with the market this year, but maybe more depending on the quality of the restoration?

Probably high teens in today's market.

Haven't been paying attention to prices hence the post. I have seen that cars are not selling as fast. Local dealers have not dropped prices on 1st gen Camaros. He doesn't 'need' to sell, just has been thinking about it.

Forgot to add the car has deluxe interior

I'll take the RS/SS convert for 20K. Where do I pick it up?

I agree.

To answer the OP's question, I would say this car should be priced in the 25k (ish) range.

I'd say 25-27K. It is not a good time to sell.

Personally I'm surprised you guys are saying so high. Are you saying listing price or selling price. I am putting my price at a realistic asking price that could possibly sell. Not the marked up way over priced cars at car shows. I say this as having sold a camaro in the past year. What you see for a listing price and what you/they get is different, and at those prices, can easily vary by 5000

I've said it before and I'll say it again...there needs to be a more comprehensive and more closely followed sytem for valuing classic automobiles. This I'll just take a stab at it approach that everyone takes with these cars doesn't work. NADA and Manheim Gold have systems but they are not followed and the condition rating for vehicles is clear but also not followed. We should get together a make a Camaro price guide or something!

I've sold three of my finished driveable cars this year. They sold quickly right here on the classifieds at prices that I wouldnt describe in such terms as many of you are using these days i.e. gloom and despare. Yes I could have got more a couple years ago but compared to my real estate holdings. stocks, and retail business venture.....I'm glad I had them. Keep in mind even in the camaro world their is a big difference between a used car and a collector car. Unfinished cars are just something most guys dont have time to consider right now when the economy dictates longer hours or second jobs to make ends meet. Don't under estimate the fact that many Americans still have significant equity. It's where they choose to keep it that matters. Stock market, cars, antiques, real estate, under the mattress......

I agree, prices are not all that bad. I'm in Arizona where there's a lot of movement with buying and selling of old cars because of our great weather and abundance of great cars.

I see cars that are priced fair to both sides and selling. Sure, not like 2 years ago, but there arn't bargins on every corner. A 1st gen vert for $18/20k ? I'd buy that all day long! That's a $25,000 car. I mean, really think about it, how many 1st gen verts are still around compared to hard top cars?

Look at the used chopper market, that's hurting.

I should have drove my car there, in WI nothing is moving. It's frozen!
