I am the second owner of a '67 RS/SS 396, 4-speed convertible. The original color is Bolero Red with red Deluxe interior. It was ordered with the console gauge package, power steering, power drum brakes, rear radio speaker, power top. The 396 is the 325 horse version but it is a CE or Counter Exchange engine as the timing chain let go and received a new engine under warranty. The car is restored except for the undercarriage (which is very solid and still wears the ruddy red primer) and the convertible top. I've known the family that owned this car before me since 1976 and remain good friends with them so know the history first hand. It was ordered in Castle Rock, CO and has always been in Colorado. I have the original order form filled out by hand at the dealership, a copy of the original window sticker and the owners manual with POP. The tag on the firewall and drivers door have never been removed and verify many of the components. I'm just wondering if the many knowledgable folks here would give me their opinon of what they would ask for this car if they were to sell. Many thanks in advance.

Sounds like a real nice car. With the economy the way it is, what its worth and what you can get for it is probably 2 different things... how about some pics? This is what NADA says... hopes this helps:thumbsup:

JMO, but what it's worth and what you can get for it are exactly the same thing.

Now what it is worth now and what it was worth before are clearly two different things.

Sounds like a great car with rock solid docs. I don't think the CE motor will hurt value much, as a result of the docs. Hope you don't have to sell, but if you do, I would think it's worth somewhere around $40K, assuming it's a very good restoration.

Agreed, as long as the CE motor has documentation of being the warranty replaced one, not a huge hurt in price if any at all. I would say if you had to sell, $40,000. Hopefully you do not have to sell because you probably know you will never find one like that again. However, if you would like to kindly drop the car off in my driveway and hand me the keys in exchange for my 67 camaro, I suppose I could do you a favor. Heck, I'll even provide you with a full tank of $2.05 premium 93 octane a gallon gas! Lets see some pics. Sounds like one AWESOME car!

I think around $40, but it would take a long time to sell. If you needed to dump it quick, I think it would sell in less than a week for $35K.
