I just ordered a tilt column from Rick's for my 68 and was wondering if there is any difference in the turn signal lever on a straight column & a tilt column.

View Full Version : Tilt turn signal lever. Milt's 68 SS/RS 396 Nov 23rd, 08, 07:22 PM I just ordered a tilt column from Rick's for my 68 and was wondering if there is any difference in the turn signal lever on a straight column & a tilt column. JIML82 Nov 24th, 08, 07:13 AM The AIM for your year Camaro should call out the turn signal lever part number for the standard (non-adjustable) column and one for the tilt if they are different. Otherwise the AIM sheet may say ALL or it might just have one part number if they are the same. One of my Camaro catalogues only calls out one lever for 1968. So if you believe that catalogue they are the same. Jim Eric Kammerer Nov 24th, 08, 07:31 AM AIM is no help. Page for base column (UPC 9) doesn't show a signal lever, and the page for tilt (RPO N33) shows only a part number for the column release lever. As far as I know, the turn signal lever is the same between both columns. DjD Nov 24th, 08, 09:07 AM Milt - download a copy of the Classic Ind parts catalog. It's not 100% full proof but for many many parts you can use it to figure out questions like you are asking. For example they show a 67-68 (mis-print maybe, should just be just '67) turn sig lever - correct for use with tilt and also a 68-70 turn sig lever correct with or without tilt. This doesn't make sense for the '68 to be both designs and why I suggest mis-print. Then I found 2 different turn sig knobs, one for '67 and the other for 68-74. Also looking at the tilt release levers it seems the knobs are the big difference. Like I said not 100% but gives you a starting point in your research.
