I converted my 67 Camaro (4 wheel drum) to power brakes this weekend and I have 1 question concerning the process. When the brake pedal is in the returned position, should it be in the same location as it was with manual brakes? By-the-way I did use the lower hole in the pedal to connect the clevis. The reason for the question is, I noticed that after looking at some parts cataloges that the brake light switch is much shorter for power brakes. The brakes work great but the pedal appears to travel a little further down (trust me all air has been removed from the master and the lines).

Yes, the pedal is lower to the floor for power brake cars.
The Assembly Instruction Manual (AIM) I have for 1968 does not show a reference dimension for the base manual brake pedal from the toe board to the pedal face, but it does show a pedal travel of 3 inches.
The dimensions for RPO J50 (power brakes) shows a pedal travel of 1.75 inches, and a distance from toe board to pedal face of 5.98 inches to "normal" position.
So, less travel needed to actuate power brakes. As long as your pedal face is about 6 inches from the toe board, and the application of the brakes three times in succession doesn't cause more than 1.75 inches of travel, you're good. 1.75 inches of travel from the reference 5.98 inch pedal position means the pedal should be just over 4 inches from the toe board when the pedal is pushed.

good info there eric.
I did my swap a few weeks ago and adjusted the pedal to the same hight it was before. did not have to adjust the brake light switch at all. hight and travel are perfect. i have a clutch pedal/ brake pedal, i dont know if that is any different than the automatic pedal.
