My rebuilt wiper motor came unpainted. What color were they back then - semi-gloss black?

That's what mine is, and it's still the original motor.

I was thinking of getting mine rebuilt. Who did yours? And did they do the washer pump too?

I bought a rebuilt from Firewheel Classics. Same with the washer pump. My car had no washer and the wiper motor was from who knows what - not even close to original.

Black is correct. The wiper motor should be painted black.

It's somewhat glossy and it's almost like a powder coat. The paint holds up great on any driver, even after all these years.
