View Full Version : Good '69 Camaro restoration book ???? Toddbo34 Nov 26th, 08, 08:12 AM Looking for advice on a good '69 Camaro restoration book. 77thor Nov 26th, 08, 08:40 AM Oh yeah... I would be interested in this, too. There are a lot of books out there... parkbrau Nov 26th, 08, 09:16 AM I have a few of them. Read them and that was it. But then I ran into a site called WWW.CAMAROS.NET 68 Ragtop Nov 26th, 08, 09:35 AM Start with the factory assembly manual, Fisher Body manual, and Chevrolet chassis service manual, all specific for your model and year vehicle. Where could I find these at and how much should I expect to pay? 77thor Nov 26th, 08, 04:41 PM I know National Parts Depot has them..... www.npdlink.com all the parts places probably do.... then there's Ebay... etc, etc Mark Rossiter Nov 26th, 08, 06:40 PM I bought a 100+ page soft cover book entitled "How to Restore Your Camaro" by the editors of Car Review Magazine. The subject of the book is a 1969 Z/28 (what else??). It's not a complete step-by-step cookbook approach, but it's pretty close and it does have a lot of pictures and some really good tips. This book, along with the others already mentioned, are worthy additions to the library. This book is published by Classic Industries, so I'm sure most of the restoration parts suppliers carry it. I think I paid around $20 for it. Fred Ficarra Nov 26th, 08, 10:16 PM I bought a 100+ page soft cover book entitled "How to Restore Your Camaro" by the editors of Car Review Magazine. It translates to HORSEPOWER! Besides, most Z's seen on the road are just emblem-fakes. Oh, IMHO.;) RamAirDave Nov 26th, 08, 10:24 PM AIM and Chassis service manuals are must haves  MacNeish's book(s) and www.camaros.org for the #s/data stuff. If those resources don't cover your questions, TC will  z/27 camaro Nov 27th, 08, 09:14 AM like ramairdave says macnieshs books are a must and i also like the 69 camaro reference book by john r hooper. I bought that book hoping it would have more info on 67's, to be honest with you. :( Oh well. I agree with you on the proliferation of 'tribute' Z's. In fact, there are so many 1969 Z/28's running around that they would be boring if they weren't so d@*'d good looking. I almost feel like I have to apologize to others for being 'stuck' with a lowly plain Jane. Anyways, if someone was going to write a 'how to' book about restoring a first gen Camaro, what model would you expect them to write about? I guess that was my point.
