Jay 69 camaro 86 T-type gottype Dec 2nd, 08, 08:24 AM Has Anyone put Moog 6308 coil springs in a stock BB camaro, I was told they would work. This is a daily driver most of the time. Thanks for the help Jay Eric Kammerer Dec 2nd, 08, 10:10 AM Welcome to Team Camaro Jay! I know you've been lurking for over a year, but I figured a welcome was in order anyway... :) 6308 is generally considered a good lowering spring for small block cars. The OE replacement for a BB 1st gen is a Moog 638, but it may be soft (rate of 327 ib-in). Search "6308" and "638" separately here in the forums, and there are some good discussions and ride height measurements. I'll be curious to know what you come up with. I cut a coil off my 638s to make it a little lower, and it ended up way too low. We have been trying to find out what a good big block equivalent to the 6320 or 6308 that the small block guys use, and if we ever found out what works, I missed it. The Hotchkis and other aftermarket springs are way stiffer (600 + lb-in) than I want to run. pdq67 Dec 2nd, 08, 04:51 PM Please do a search under me for MOOG 5536 springs! I think you will like them. pdq67 |
