A little rich for my blood:

All that, and they couldn't get the pictures right on ebay.

I'm speechless. That price almost qualifies as a bailout package.

I think that a car like this could easily dip into the six figures, but the starting bid is more than a bit unrealistic imho.

for that price, I could get a dozen more big blocks, a couple Z-28s with cross-rams, a COPO, and, best of all, finish my '68 project IN STYLE. Heck, how much are them Yenkos going for? come on, that's insane.

Those sure are small pics for a car priced that high.

The ebay ad is there for promotion/advertisement.

Most prospective buyers likely either know the car or will inspect (or have someone do so) in person rather than rely on the pics.

WTF is a cylinoid? Hope they build cars better than they spell.

I can't see this going for more than $100,00 to $150,000 tops if there is a bidding war.....

I'm building a 632 cube BBC with full AMR frame, custom 4 link, shaved everything and highly highly custom metal interior, it will be a 2-3 year build done entirely by a shop (as I have no skills in this area at all) and it will cost me net total approx AUD$250,000 (in USD that's about $200K)...and I would never ever get back what I spent because it hs been built to my wants....

Now this car has a few things mine doesn't but couldn't see those things cost an extra half a mil

I wish I had some ability to do motor or body work. If I did, I wouldn't be $19,256.05 into a project not even close to being completed. I can go to Ebay or TC ads and see lots of cars I could have gotten for that amount; ready to drive. Some guys think you''ll "get your money back" when you decide to sell your car. That's true if you bought a nice collectable, desireable Camaro at the right time. But when you start building your own car, that theory goes out the window fast. (example: do I need 4 wheel disc brakes? No. But I spent 30 minutes today on Wilwood website looking at thier brakes) Saw an article in HotRod mag- a guy spent $300,000 restoring an early '70s Corvette. To me, it looked like a kit-car. I know 'vettes, but if I saw that one on the road, I wouldn't be able to tell you the year. All I kept thinking was: man, for that kind of money I could get a matching-numbers '57 Corvette with money to spare.

We have seen this kind of auction many times and it's been generally concidered it's just advertising. No ebay sale means no large ebay fee and the car gets seen by a lot of potential buyers. Once the auction is over contact the seller, I bet he has a more realstic price in mind...

I read the ad in a similar way. he doesn't want to sell the car (it's his calling card) just sell you on having his shop fix yours.

The car is not for sale at this price......it states the following
"note: this car is a flagship for Carlevale Custom Cars and is on a tour of the US for the year 2009 also note that eBay does not allow advertising or selling of a service that is why this car is FOR SALE ;) visit ccustomcar.com for more information Also: we know the pictures are small there are many state-of-the-art items on this camaro that we do not wish to reveal until the car finishes the tour of the US at the end of 2009"

Keeping all the motor under the "cal hood" is very impressive. the stance is a lot higher then most of our customers request!
