I finished the steering box change to the IROC box. Now the problem I have is the ignition key is sitting in the engaged position. I cannot get the key back to the disengaged position, it will only move forward. I have not tried starting and will not until it returns from the body shop. I figure this is a pretty simple problem and would like to get it fixed before going to the shop, which is next week. Any suggestions??

If this is a 69 and I don't know if 67-69 were the same. Down on the column right where it meets the bottom of the dash. Rotate the outerhousing of the column counter clockwise. Once in a while mine will turn on me and I can't get my key out. I have a late 70's tilt column though. Give that a try. It might have to do with the safety nuetral switch.

yup if it's a 69 the previous post may have helped you.....

if this is the case maybe your reverse lockout linkage needs adjusting....

That did the trick, glad it was something easy:hurray:
