I need the correct fittings for the mech. oil gauge for a 67 396/325. The fittings that were in when I got the car come straight out of the block about 3 of them approx 1/2 to 3/8 to 1/4 then plastic line to fire wall. The assembly man. shows a fitting coming out of the block then turning approx 45 degrees. I was told that the line should be copper tube from block to firewall. I would really like to do it the factory way.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply
I have seen this one, but I was told it is for the 396/375 1969 camaro.
Here is a pic I found of a 396/325 car. It looks more like what is in the assembly man. Would this be correct? It appears to be a plastic line.

I dont think that is correct. See the little tiny clip the line runs through? That is for a wire holder for the factory oil pressure sender. That car was probably converted to mechanical aftermarket guages.

Heck, I just looked it up in my GM Parts Book and the GM # is 3909574 for the oil pressure Hose. It fits 1967-1969/396 Engine-All with Consol Guages. The Links I sent you are the correct parts for factory guages, they just happen to be from Corvette Central, the Camaro Reproduction Houses probably have the same parts.

By the way it is a 2 piece kit, the lower 8" or so are copper line and then it changes to plastic line from the back of the head and into the car. There is also a special clip that bolts to the back of the head to retain the fitting where the change in line material occurs. Hope This Helps. Mike.

Tony,
That is the correct setup for a 67 w/console gauges. There is a detailed thread on this topic in the engine section.
