Has any one attempted or have done a center piece handbrake? If so, can you send me pictures?

Vic - How much fab work do you want to do? Using a '69 console would mean loosing the storage area and mounting the hand brake in it's place or cutting off a good portion of the side of the console so you could mount the hand brake between the seat and console.

Foot hand brakes are not the norm in NZ
Something I have been meaning to ask u guys for ages..
How do u do a full on hand brake slide?
Hard down, swing the wheel, pull the handcrake, slide, then (the hard part with a foot handbrake) drop the hand brake quick, drop a gear, and floor it again

I dont really want to ruin my center console, i would rather no put the console in, but the console gives it more orignality, but the hand brake on the console always looks better and as "steps" mentioned, the hand brake slide, there's pros and cons, so im still indecisive, i have all the fab'ing tools, just the proper work to put in and do a really good job would take a lot of time (which im dedicated to do).. can you buy center console hand brake kits for 69 camaros (after market of course)

All of the hand brakes I've seen were beside 4th gen consoles mounted in first gens. They usually look great in there too.

In the US even on bicycles, using the brakes to get the back tire to slide out was the sissy way of going about it until tuner cars turned up and front wheel drive cars were used for drifting.

I hate that question...hmmm shhhh they are (cough cough very quiet voice) hmmm Aussie 1970 ford falcon coupe...and on the bright side..the ford falcon coupe guys cant get them, they are as rear as a 4 leaf clover in a maize feild....and I have a spare set to.

Sorry, Step, but that is FUNNY!!
Guys like u pi... me off, just not sincerer when saying sry...I mean a person who says sry doesnt have a big grin across hi face lol

Been thinking about the center hand brake, not just the consol , but under the car..the cables...
Still use the loop?? which means there could be issues with the drive shaft, or using dual cable to the rear wheel cables would have issues with even pull each side...these could be made to drop either side of the drive shaft.

Its easy to do if going into a slide then coming to a stop, but to keep going at right angles is a problem to do smooth.

And bump....how to do a good full on slide ..stomping the foot hand brake pedal, then release quick, chopping down a gear, and swing the wheel back all almost at the same time?

Steps- first saying "I'm sorry but that is too funny" is a term used often but it's not intended as an apology or put down, it's like saying "maybe it's my sense of humor but that was funny" it's nothing for you to take offense over...

Next - maybe we need to drop the conversation about skidding and slidding the rear end around, I doubt you are out competing in drifting contests and anything else you could be needing to use the brake to slide the car is going to take this into someplace that will fall into the street racing or illegal exibition category and we don't want to go there...

Come on m8 don't be so sensitive. Did I mis-understand the "lol" at the end of what appears to be a serious statement? If so I apologize. Steps - I took no issue, just wanted to make sure you understood the nature of the "I'm sorry but that is too funny" comment, it wasn't a question of no humor on my part but rather one of just wanting to make sure two people didn't take each other wrong.

Can I assume the "lol" also negates any seriousness in your opinion quoted above and you really are not trying to tell me to chill out? ;)

M8 the guys here are cool... he actually wasnt sure himself lol PMed me
At 1st I didnt twigg to what the hang he was on about..then 1/2 way thru replying I realised ...
We are cool..
I just didnt tell u m8 ...nothing like winding the Admin up a bit along the way lol

The only time I get upset, is when ppl personally attack others and this is usully done to draw a red herring across the subject when they have run out of integenence to logially debate back....or be able to see the logic and learn from it.
And when someone brings ones integrety into issue without any basis.
Other than that life is to short to be serious

Serious ppl are cool....its very hard to pull the tit of someone who is not a bit serious lol

PS just dont look up yank in the dictionary lol
I used to work with an American back in the 70s...he told me that one!
