Does anyone know if a 1986 chevy carborated engine will drop right in a 1976 camaro? Thanks

I would lower it slowly, but it will fit.

You'll need to keep the '86 flywheel/flexplate as '86 is one-piece design rear seal, smaller bolt circle on crankshaft flange for '86 & above.

I am getting the engine and transmission as a unit. Did they still use the 350 and 400 transmissions in 86? I was wondering about the drive shaft fitting. I am not sure when they came out with the 700r4 transmission.

How does the quote function remove the capital I?I think a Senate Comm needs to be appointed to find the answer.

No, onlyTHM200R4, THM250, THM350's & THM350C's till '81. 4L60 after '82.
