Pro-Street69Camaro468 Dec 1st, 08, 06:31 PM Nice looking 67 PS as are the others,Now for the question are they all yours if so you are my hero. Is that wire or pipe on the floor. What part of the country are you from....
RATHOWSE Dec 1st, 08, 06:38 PM Hey Dave, yeah there all mine. That is some large copper service feeders we scrapped from a job. located in Tampa, Florida area
RATHOWSE Dec 1st, 08, 07:04 PM Dave, just looked at your PB slideshow. That is a sweet job on the 69. I finished my 67 about 8 yrs ago. I wish back then I made my mind up to go either pro-street or race car. I leaned towards race car for the most part wich has made it a pain in the a$$ to drive on the street. It looks like you handled the best of both worlds pretty well
prostreet69camaro Dec 1st, 08, 07:19 PM Alan,
Nice cars. I like all of them. Welcome to Team Camaro. Thanks for posting pictures of your cars.
Pro-Street69Camaro468 Dec 1st, 08, 07:27 PM My car is a pain in the As$ I think all Tubbed cars probably are though....Do you own your electrical biz.I am a union plumber that probably should have gone in business myself...
RATHOWSE Dec 1st, 08, 07:32 PM Yep I am a state licensed E.C. here in Florida. We are all sort of hunkering down for the tropical depression called the economy down here:( how are the trades doing in your neck of the woods?

RATHOWSE Dec 1st, 08, 07:41 PM All you guys with 69 pro-streeters make me jealous. Way back in the day when I started the 67 I really wanted a 69 but I could not get my hands on one. Nothing says Pro-Street Like the rear view of a 69 with fat tires:hurray:

PPG Crimson Pearl.....regardless of who wins, I believe it's gonna be one heck of a game. Both teams are ranked either 1 or 2 in offense and defense in the SEC.
RATHOWSE Dec 1st, 08, 08:11 PM I always pull for the Tide (except when the Gators play) So what happens if Bama loses do you think they get left out of the BCS?

Probably left out of the Championship because of a late season loss due to other teams with earlier losses having "climbed" back up the rankings.
RATHOWSE Dec 1st, 08, 08:23 PM It is a shame this game is not the BCS. Better ratings I would think (In the South anyway)

I am thinking about rebuilding the motor with a blower. what type of pistons / cam / carbs you running. this motor is way to much:D for the street its 13.5to1 big roller and a dominator with a 500hp fogger. So I do not drive much at all.

Any video of that car when you are spraying?

No, when I drove it on the street for any distance I took the chute off. As far as the spray the last time I ran this car at Sunshine was before I installed the system, that was about 8/9 years ago. It ran 5.80's (1/8). The car actually has been mothballed for about 6 years due to work and other projects:sad: But one of these days!!!!!!!!!:disco:

Hopefully things pick up down here, we mainly do commercil & industrial but with all the residential contractors are now bidding commercial so that market is very tight and industrial has ground to a halt around here. It is sad to say but we are going to tighten the belts and hope a lot of the smaller residential shops learn how to bid commercial correctly (they think there wiring houses still) or go under in the process:sad:. We went from 40 field guys to 18 in a 30 day period. the other issue is the banks are still not loaning money to the developers. Me thinks they are thinking things are going to get a lot worse:(. Good luck up there. Al

Is this a Duster,Dart, or Demon any of the three are another one of my favorites even though they are not a Camaro. My first car was a 1974 360 3 speed Dart changed to a 4 speed kinda wish I still had it got my first spinning wheels ticket two weeks after I got it.

Know what you mean, I had a 340 duster with an auto when I was 16. Got a muffler ticket within months of getting it.

My car? I'm busy shipping hooker headers back and forth to Jegs. The 2 1/8" and 2 " super comps have too many points of contact. I think the next set 2" comps will fit. And, picked up a procharger for Christmas.

I built mine with a Hooker kit, it was a pain in the arse but its cool to tell people you built them, there is a place in Tampa that does ceramic coating fairly cheap also

That would be good until they saw my welds!
Maybe if I got my cheap tig welder set up and practiced a bit, I could do it half decent, but I'll try the 2" Hooker Competition headers that just arrived first.

Post up some picks of them if/when you can. I always like to see pics of awesome rides being constructed.
RATHOWSE Jan 5th, 09, 10:13 PM So I have been thinking about what to do with my 67. I finally got a most of the tinkering / tweaking done on my 69 so I need another project. I would really like to make the 67 street friendly. I was also looking into doing a "Procharger" or a blower, I really like the idea of turbo as they seem to be pretty streetable and the capability of throwing down some serious HP. The motor I have is a splayed 4 bolt Gen4 with a steel crank, rods with a huge roller cam. I did not want to spend big bucks on the motor though, what is the going price on a turbo? I was also thinking about putting back in a factory floor from the rear of the front seats to and including the firewall. this is all in the direction of making it a "Pro" street car rather than a shoot out type car as it was origionally built. any thoughts guys?

Keep it a tube frame car. Put in another seat and 5 point harness. You'll have to lower the compression to run much boost (you said it was 13:1 right?).
A twin turbo would be pretty cool. I've got some photos of a twin turbo setup from last fall, I'll see if I can find them. Prochargers looked a bit easier than anything else to me, so I am going that route. I guess I'll learn
Just my 2 cents.

I'm interested in that wishbone style track locator on your '67. How is the ride quality with it installed? I have a diagonal link for a track locator on my ladder-link(adjustable ladder bars) and was contemplating changing it..........

prostreet69camaro Jan 11th, 09, 06:31 AM The only problem I see with that setup (wishbone track locator) is getting the exhaust to the back of the car. I had my exhaust with dumps by the rearend and it blew dust everywhere and it was noisy. Now I have it out the back behind the car and it is alot better.

I am not sure on the ride quality versus any other type of locator as I have always had the wishbone. I can see what you mean about the exhaust but I could probably sneak them thru between the the front ladder bracket and the front wishbone heim joint, there is plenty of room above that.

Pro-Street69Camaro468 Jan 11th, 09, 10:14 AM Wishbone is stronger but if its on a ladder bar I think there is some bind issues here.S+W recomends a pan hard bar but I don't like that it moves the rear from side to side.I like the diagonal link myself...How is work going Alan is it picking up

Hey Dave, short awnser is no, it actually is getting worse:sad: a positive though is I am getting a lot of time to tinker with the cars and hang with the family:thumbsup: although that does not help the 35 guys I had to lay off. It sure is hard for the ones that did not heed the "when the work is good work often and save the money" advice that I preach. thx Al

My exhaust ends right at the front heim joint for the ladder-links so wishbone locator might work for me. Thanks Mike!!
