This is a question for anyone who has installed a vintage air sure fit system in their '67 or '68:

Did the bottom half of the supplied glove box have the front section (which would go between the dash and the glove box hinge) cut out of it ? I noticed that the glove box in my kit (that I bought several years ago but never installed) did not match the drawing of the glove box in the instructions, which had the three holes in the front bottom.

I contacted Vintage Air; they told me that my part was correct, and that the drawing on the instructions was wrong. They said that the one hole in each side of the flange around the glove box opening in the dash was all that was supposed to hold the glove box in. I know that this thing is not meant for lots of storage, but it seems like it would be awfully flimsy !

It is obvious that the section was cut out by hand, and not made that way. I can't guess why they would have done this, and not use that section to help support the box ? Thanks, Ron.

Mine was attached with two original glove box screws on each side plus the 3 hinge screws. They should also have some small screws to attach to 2 halves together as well. It is pretty solid after all the screws were installed. I'm still not that impressed with the glove box but hey, I have A/C!

Mike, thanks for the reply ! Is there anyway that you could post a pic of the bottom half of your glove box at the hinge area ? I don't think that mine's going to work; I think that someone has been cutting on it before I got it.

By the way, I checked out your pics; you've got a great looking car with alot of nice stuff on it ! Thanks, Ron.
