Hello to all my F-Body brothers and sister from Washington State.
I bought my 69’ Camaro in 86’ in Spokane Washington for 2 grand. It had a 250 six and a Saginaw 3. I drove it for two years, wrecked it twice, then garaged it with a serious sore nose. Jump ahead 20 years........Early May of this year, I got a trailer, started her up, and brought her down to my new home in Richland. 20 years is long enough, time to get back to working on her.
I fixed the sheet metal, cleaned her all up, tuned her all up and drove it all summer long. Everywhere I go in it, people stop and ask me about her, or tell me stories about having one or an uncle or cousin who had one. God I love that car and damn am I glad I didn’t sell her.
I’ve put a Muncie M20 in her, last thing I did before putting her away, and next summer, and after 22 years, it’s time to put the V8 in her that she deserves. I’ve got a 350 block with casting number 3970010, and a set of 3782461 camel-hump heads. I’m planning on building a nice mild 300-350 hp motor for her with as many GM parts as I can. I want to build it, and restore it “as-close” as I can to original with GM parts and specs. I’m not worried about making it crazy anymore like I once was. I’ve turned into more of a purest in my old age.
Thanks,
Steve
