Hey guys,my friend inherited a four door 1972 Nova. So, we want to be different and run it on the strip. Its got the orignal 307 but only has 49000 original miles. We put a new holley 600cfm carb amd new edelbrock intake and hedmen headers with just open headers.( It sounds pretty mean for a 307) Even though my 71 RS would kill it. It has open diffrential with I guess 3.08 gears and a th350. What you think it would turn in the quarter mile and eight mile????

Any ideas?

Thanks,
MaTT!

I would guess mid to high 16 second range. If your planning on bracket racing the car, I would suggest putting it back to bone stock condition. It will be a little slower, but more consistent and less likely to break parts.

Kyvox...i have to say that i dont think the headers, an intake and a 600 holley are going to push that motor to the brink of destruction.

i'd bet it only has 2.56 rear gears. you should be able to hit 70 mph in first gear...
