: subframe connectors and body mounts
lapersinger Dec 6th, 08, 06:59 AM Getting ready to put bolt in subframe connectors and solid body mounts in my 67 camaro. Was looking at the jegs bolt in connectors and GW solid mounts. Is this a good combo? Or does anybody have a better combo? Is there any problems Im gonna run in to with this combo? Thanks for any help you can give me. I wantto order them with in the next week.
lumpy Dec 6th, 08, 07:06 AM I would go global west body mounts and hotchkis subframe connectors, they tuck up real nice and fit good, dont know anything about the jegs connectors, if you do a search quite a few like the hotchkis, check out prodigy customs.
lapersinger Dec 6th, 08, 07:07 AM Thanks for fast reply. I will check them out.
keypilot Dec 6th, 08, 07:17 AM i did some resaerch a while back and bought the hotchkis for my 67. i have not installed them yet :(
time is not my friend.
Lucky68 Dec 6th, 08, 08:06 AM Just so you know, the GW & Hotchkis connectors are designed to be welded in. If you want strictly bolt in ones, I'd go with competition engineering.
ROBS6T8 Dec 6th, 08, 01:01 PM I installed the CE subframe connectors with no problems. You can weld these in after if you would like. I have no problem with the way they look from viewing them from the side. Went in easy with no problems. Installed them when I replaced the mounts and rear leafs.

BigBlock1969RS Dec 6th, 08, 01:12 PM I have the GW body mounts and Hotchkis sub-frame connectors. Going to weld them in on the rear and bolt up in front. I have mocked up the sub-frame connectors but not welded them in yet. It all fits together well. The Hotchkis s/f connectors tuck up nice and aren't too visible unless you get down really low.
Fred Ficarra Dec 6th, 08, 01:21 PM I installed the CE subframe connectors with no problems. You can weld these in after if you would like. Dougs72Nova Dec 6th, 08, 02:15 PM See this thread. There are some good pictures in it of how well the Hotchkis connectors look and fit. By the way Frank at prodigy customs(on this site) has a sale right now on the Hotchkis connectors. Not sure how long the sale lasts though. http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=146883
lapersinger Dec 7th, 08, 11:17 AM What do you guys think of these connectors? You ever heard of these guys? They apear to be a easy bolt in . http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.dakotamuscle.com/images/product_subframe_connector_off.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.dakotamuscle.com/products.html&usg=__FPKvFceYUcsvuqeKOvw327_9Qcs=&h=207&w=218&sz=26&hl=en&start=11&tbnid=X64E6Z3Oy7YMPM:&tbnh=102&tbnw=107&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dsubframe%2Bconnectors%2B67%2Bcamaro%2 6hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1T4ADBF_enUS246US248%26sa%3DG
BonzoHansen Dec 7th, 08, 05:17 PM Compare to the GW ones. The part where it bolts/welds to the SF it is on both sides of the SF. |_|

The ones you found appear to be like this |_ (is the term single sheer correct here?)
I am not a structural guy but i might think the GW design is stronger

..now I wait for the smart guys to tell me why I am wrong, lol...
pdq67 Dec 8th, 08, 03:30 PM Imho, the cheap bolt-on Jegs S/F/C's are hard to beat!
So what if they hang down a schosh b/c to me, they just follow the lines of the S/F on back is all.
And the price is right.
