I still dont understand where to place those o-rings, on the valve stem underneath the spring? on top?
If i dont know it i will leave them out of the engine!

The valve stem O ring sits in the second groove from the top of the valve stem. The top groove recieves the valve "keepers" or "locks".
To install the O ring, compress the valve spring and retainer enough to slide the O ring down into the lower groove.
If you try to install the O ring before installing the retainer, the retainer will sometimes force the o ring out of the groove when you compress the spring to install the locks.
It is very important to use the O rings or the engine will consume a LOT of oil. I got one installed wrong and the car consumed one quart of oil in 60 miles!

Some people like to install the O-rings dry - but I've always put a little ATF (before I slip them on) on them to help them stay put and prevent them from binding on the retainer and slipping up as you set the locks.

Or go with guide-locked seals on the intakes and umbrella seals on the exhaust AND forget about the o-rings getting pinched, moved and possibly damaged!
BUT you might have to machine your guide tops so they fit?

I don't recall seeing any "o" ring seal on my new Vortec heads, ony the seals on the valve guide. Is that normal?
