Hey guys once again another problem ugh.
I was out of town for a few helping my father with my uncles house which recently passed :( and I come back home and this happens. I am leaning towards a non mechanical issue but here we go. I was coming to a light i stopped like a normal stop then the idle dropped and i felt like it was stuttering I knew something was wrong so I turn onto a side street and it felt like it was missing or choking but still going strong. So I humped it home and I pull the carb off the carb is generally very clean except my power valve seems to have a bubble or a distortion in it and I know power valves blow but they run rich after there dead. I know they can cause ur engine to stutter but dont know how bad. I checked my oil there doesnt seem to be any metal in my oil that I can see.

Im pulling the plugs now and I will let you know what I find there. Would the bubble in the valve make for any concern what is happening with my car? this was a sudden problem not intermittent. Another thing the car has been idling very fast on cold start ups about 1,000 rpm's from my set 650-700 rpm's. Any thoughts guys?

I had a power valve that did the same thing, didn't look like it was completely blown out, just like you described. Replaced it, no more problem.

I just pulled my spark plugs there all very clean and nothing i should concern myself with there. I called my grandfather and he told me head gasket...but I dont beat on this thing. If it were the head gasket wouldnt there be signs in the exhaust or my water? my exhaust was real clean just smelled rich and theres no water in my oil or anything.

If it were a head gasket,it certainly would be evident in the coolant or the crankcase(oil). Since you say both are fine, I would replace the power valve as it appears to be damaged as mentioned in your earlier post.

Levi..when braking..it is not unheard of for the fuel in the secondary bowls to slosh forward and dump fuel into the carb via the secondary vent tube.
I had a similiar concern.Set the float level down a tad in the rear and install secondary jet extensions and vent whistles.

I havent been able to check it out. Im having to smog my pathfinder and the battery just died on it and my optima is in the pathfinder, and it failed smog today due to the fact that the comptuer didnt detect the oxygen sensors or the catalyst so I have to go up and down the 99 today for 100 miles and see if it passes, the emisions passed just the computer ugh. If it does pass I will work on my car and see if it was the issue.

I've been known to follow up on my posts just been really jammed lately. badbird im getting your carb in the mail tmw morning dont worry :).
