I have a 1969 Camaro with stock power brakes front disc rear drum. I want to make sure I have all the right parts to do the conversion.
Front
I would like to use C5 calipers. What year works the best and parts number?
What caliper bracket do I need and where can I get them?
Do I have to send out my spindles or should I get another set?
It is my understanding that the C4 rotors (are they 13 inch) will work in the C5 caliper and provide the best clearance. Correct?
What year C4 rotors do I get? Part numbers?
Rear
Already have the two RH 93-97 Z/28 (essentially C4) rear calipers, caliper brakets and two LH mounting plates which I have to redrill. (no new GM RH availble)
I assume I use the 93-97 Z/28 rear rotors that go with these calipers? Part numbers?
What is the best MC and power booster combo that will work with this set up? I don't mind getting a new set up and going to someone like MasterPower brakes etc.
I will use flex braided lines in the front.
Not sure what issues will come up with the rear lines, but the ebrake should bolt right up.
Any info or anything I missed would be greatly apprecaited.

Please do a search under me for BOTH my "pdqCBB" front and rear 13" and 11.75" rotor homemade conversion to start you off!
I know that you want to use newer calipers, but the deal is still the same!
And I think David may have a bracket template site saved that may help you here??

I have done the exact same swap
Front
I would like to use C5 calipers. What year works the best and parts number? I bought used C5 calipers. A C5 caliper is a C5 caliper. The Z06 caliper is powdercoated red. Check E-bay - tons of em
What caliper bracket do I need and where can I get them? This is what I used http://www.speedtech-performance.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=51/category_id=217/home_id=123/mode=prod/prd51.htm
Do I have to send out my spindles or should I get another set? Will work with disc or drum spindles. If you have disc spindles make sure they send you the spacers
It is my understanding that the C4 rotors (are they 13 inch) will work in the C5 caliper and provide the best clearance. Correct? Only with the correct (above)brackets.
What year C4 rotors do I get? Part numbers? I bought mine at NAPA - just ask for C4 13" rotors. There is a R and an L

I assume I use the 93-97 Z/28 rear rotors that go with these calipers? Part numbers? Same as above. 93-97 z/28 rotors - any parts house can get them for you
What is the best MC and power booster combo that will work with this set up? I don't mind getting a new set up and going to someone like MasterPower brakes etc. I am using Hydroboost and the stock 1 1/8 bore disc/drum MC. Awesome stopping power
I will use flex braided lines in the front. Bought mine from www.kore3.com Talk to Tobin
Not sure what issues will come up with the rear lines, but the ebrake should bolt right up. You will need custom cables. The e-brake is built into the caliper bought my cables here http://www.touring-classics.com/ You will have to fab your own hard lines on the rear axle. Easy enough. You'll have to attach a bracket on each axle tube for the hard/flex line junction
Any info or anything I missed would be greatly apprecaited. PM me if you need more info. You will need a set of 67-69 Camaro front drum hubs.

Speaking of C5 Z06 calipers has anyone tried the six piston ones? Same mounting holes? Not sure what size wheel you would need for this setup and rotor if possible.
I have front stock disc so in addition to a caliper mounting bracket I need a spacer as well?
Also there are two different caliper mounting brackets one for using the C4 rotor and one for using the C5 rotor?
Furthermore I need a set of 1969 front drum hubs to make it work up front? Is that represented by the picture number 5 down from the top you sent?
sory for my newbie question but what is the MC & hydroboost vs. MC & power booster? More details?
Thanks

I have front stock disc so in addition to a caliper mounting bracket I need a spacer as well? Yes - see the first pic I posted - iy's the big thick aluminum spacer - seppedtech will include it if you ask - it's for disc spindles
Also there are two different caliper mounting brackets one for using the C4 rotor and one for using the C5 rotor? The bracket I linked is for a C5 caliper with a C4 rotor ONLY
Furthermore I need a set of 1969 front drum hubs to make it work up front? Is that represented by the picture number 5 down from the top you sent? Yep. You use a drum hub and the rotor fits over it. The drum hub will work on your disc spindle. The drum hub will have to have its dimater machined down a bit to clear the inside of the rotor. Machine shop charged me $40
sory for my newbie question but what is the MC & hydroboost vs. MC & power booster? More details? Hydroboost is a brake booster that runs off of the power steering pump. This setup should work fine with a vac booster, but the MC bore might need to be a bit smaller. tobin at www.kore3.com will be able to help out there. OR noel at www.touring-classics.com
Thanks

The 6 piston Z06 stuff is huge and requires huge wheels, to simplify.
MC - master cylinder

Al,
I have a REALLY old mag that say's that a 1.25" piston manual MC will work fine! It's on my car now but it's not ready to go only b/c I'm a sorry SOB is all.
And btw, what upper A-arms are those?
I have Pro-Motorsports 1-15/16" spindle extenders on my "stock" car w/ cut MOOG 5536 springs and a 496 BB and I'm thinking hard about installing upper A-arms like yours b/c I don't think my OEM A-arms fit my headers all that good is all.
And I'm using MOOG 1/4" offset upper A-arm shafts and poly-graphite upper and lower bushings!

Paul -
If it's a REALLY old mag, it was probably published before C5/C4 calipers were made. The C5/C4 stuff have tiny piston bores compared to the old single piston 69 stuff. I would doubt that that big of a MC would make enough line pressure to effectively operate these newer calipers. This is based on my limited knowledge, BTW. It (1.125) works well with hydroboost because hydroboost creates way more line pressure than a manual or a vac booster could unless you have legs like Bo Jackson.
The upper arms are SPC. Adjustable, so you don't need alignment shims which does save some header clearance, and you can crank in a ton of pos caster with them. They are the ones that Mark at Savitske Calssic and Custom sells and that's where I got them. I'm using them with the Howe extra tall upper joints.
