After replacing gaskets twice this summer, what is the best option in header gaskets?
World Sportman II (square port) Hooker Super Comps.
Thanks in advance

AJ, I've tried all the paper and copper gaskets out there.

These Earl's gaskets are the best available IMO. Aluminum frame with replaceable graphite foil inserts, avail in many port sizes.

If you grind the header surface flat like a stock exhaust manifold and use Detroit Gasket Expand-tech gaskets you will have no more leaks.

i agree w/ zz430, earls pressure masters are sweet! use them with my super comps, they seal perfect, and fit the port well also. and i went to retorque them and none was needed. worth every penny, say goodbye to header leaks graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Ditto on the Earls. I used them right from the start. No Leaks!

I use Earl's too. Never have had a leak with them, and I don't have to safety wire the bolts anymore either. I actually buy the ones without holes and make the holes myself to match my headers/heads.

Thanks for the info. Looks like Earl's are the ones.
One question: It looks like no slots in the end holes, is it possible to cut part of the outer material away to allow end of gasket to slide over the end bolts.
I'm getting lazy and like the Mr. Gasket, Fel-pro etc, slotted ends.
Thanks

On second thought, if they are that good, what's a little more work fitting them.

Thanks
AJ That's one thing about them, you cannot slot the ends or the insert will not be tight.

Also, you must be careful not to knock out the insert with a bolt while installing...but like we all say, the bolts don't loosen up after the intial tightening. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
