Hi guys i bought a 96 camaro rs about 2 weeks ago without a motor and i was wondering if I can put a 1999 3.8 in it. If so what will be some of the problems i will run into? Thanks

Many of the 4th gen. F-body cars had the 3.8 -v-6 in them so you would probably have to use those type motor mounts. You should be able to tell from the vin # what motor was in it but think all the 6 cyl. Cars starting in 96 had the 3.8 buick motor in them rather than the chev. 3.4 v-6. You would have to find out what wiring harness and computer would work and also whether the 99 v-6 came out of a front wheel drive or rear wheel drive car as they are different. Probably need to check to see what trans fits what engine too. Am sure there are some on this forum that have done it.
