Looking for a source for windshield trim (black) for my '68 coupe. My desire is to have black trim in lieu of chrome; I've seen cars in some of the car magazines with black trim and wondered if this is a custom type deal?
I've also been told there are some sources out there for black rubber trim that replaces the chrome trim around the front windshield and rear window, but again, is this a custom/ one-off deal , or is there a source out there for this?
Thanks in advance for any replies!

I've never seen a source for it, but back in the 80's I did it to my first 68. I just scuffed the pieces with scotch brite then painted it semi gloss black, it looked OK at the time and stuck well, I only had the car a year or two after doing it but it never peeled or chipped. I personally wouldn't do it again though, I like the chrome on the old cars.

I have seen some trim on 2nd gen Camaros powdercoated black... it looked good.
I believe that rubber "trim" is a standard product that the auto glass installers use.

I saw a 68 Camaro at the car show unfinished and the guy that was doing it raised the window chanell to where it was a 1/4" deep or so.He said that it would be trimmed with S-10 rubber trim.He said raising the depth of the window chanell took about a 100 hrs each...

Guys, thanks for the information!!!
I have an idea of how to proceed....I'll try to post "after paint- prison" pictures of my Pro-Touring Camaro soon ( it's the first car I ever owned; not matching nos. - that's why I'm turing it into a PT car)...
