I decided against putting on the Hedmans. My question is has anyone had success with Dougs Headers? I contacted him and he said I could get a set for $635 for my setup. These are ceramic coated. I would hate to pay that price and find they don't fit.

I used the shorty's on my 67 chevelle and they fit perfectly - both dropped in from the top. Don't know about fit on your car, but I think Doug's has put a lot into fitment quality. They were the ONLY short header I could find for my car that actually FIT angle plug heads. Doug's was the 4th set I tried and they fit.

I have Doug Thorley Tri-Ys on my 69 RS Camaro with power steering. No fitment problems and no more burnt plug wires. Passenger side dropped in from the top and driver side must come in from the bottom with car raised pretty high. I did not have to make any modifications to the headers.

I bought mine from Summit with a 10% discount and got them uncoated and then sent them to Jet Hot for coating - ended up being about same price you are looking at.

There's only one Doug Thorley but I thought some of you may not know that there are two companys. www.thorleyheaders.com (http://www.thorleyheaders.com) and www.dougsheaders.com (http://www.dougsheaders.com)

Doug Thorley owns "Dougs Headers" and use to own Thorleys (the orig business started over 40 yrs ago)

As you would expect the products are very much alike... I've found my Dougs shorties to be of the highest quality...
