I drive a 1996 RS. Recently my key got stuck in the on position and I can't get it out. Now the car is not at my home yet, so I have not got a chance to really get a good look at what I need to do. So I was wondering if I can get some help.
PS. I didn’t get it stuck. Some of my family members like to steal it and do doughnuts in it.

Try rotating the collar on the steering column either clock or counterclockwise.

Yep...and lift the steering wheel up and down while turning the wheel and the key. The other thing is to be sure its fully in park.....

After you get it back, get a new family.

Thats a common occurence at the dealership. Most of the time if you cant get it unstuck twisting and turning the steering wheel and/or checking your fully in park, lots of the times its the shifter itself stuck.

I would also check the push button on top the shifter (that is if it is an automatic), sometimes they will stick in the down postion and cause the same problem , this has happened to my 300M a few times.
