I got a 3 1/8 in Autometer tach for Christmas:hurray:. I would like to mount it under the dash, but can't find a black gauge panel for it. Largest one I can find is 2 5/8. Anyone know of somewhere I could find one?

View Full Version : Anyone know where to find a 3 1/8 inch single gauge panel? cgrady Dec 27th, 08, 03:39 PM I got a 3 1/8 in Autometer tach for Christmas:hurray:. The cups I've seen are 3 3/8" or larger and the mount below the dash plates stop at 2 5/8". I'd start with a 4" sq of 1/2" alum and fabricate something. Mikes idea is good too... larry A/SA Dec 27th, 08, 07:02 PM If I had this problem, here is the way I would attack it. I would find a piece of metal, in the thickiness that I liked. I would the take the metal and put it between 2 pieces of 2X4s place in a vice and bend. Use a good dead blow hammer. trim and fit and drill under dash holes to the way i liked for under dash appll. Tilt as needed. the take a whole saw and cut the final whole. Prime N paint to color. All of the tools can be bought at Lowes and done pretty cheap.
