Had to fab a new trim panel so my radio would fit and look decent. I used the lower third of the original panel with the ash tray opening it and fabbed a new upper panel. The biggest problem was finding new woodgrain vinyl. Tried contact paper but it did not come close to matching the original ashtray and it was too thin and the adhesive was not very good. After much internet searching I found a heavy duty vinyl with decent adhesive. I heated it with a hair dryer to get the inside corners of the ashtray opening to stretch enough to fit well.

The vinyl was $70 for a roll. It is not a perfect match but it is pretty darn close. If anyone is interested in some, send me a PM.

Now on to next project of getting the tail lights and back-up lights centered in the reproduction tail panel.
