I have a deluxe steering wheel for a 67 that has a few cracks. I would like to repair if possible. What is the best way to repair?

There are some companies that specialize in repairing steering wheels but it can get expensive. Eastwood & POR 15 offer steering wheel repair kits that are reasonable.

I did my 69 a few yrs ago on winter nights with spare time on my hands
Cleaned and degeased, several times
Filled with a high grade industial epoxy filler, then spent hrs slowly filing and sanding to shape
Prepared an repainted...could never tell.

Second the above. Use a good filler. Painted mine w/ urethane. Works fine. Go to Devcon, their professional products are not limited to fillers and adhesives. IMO some of Eastwood's and POR's products are a marketing ploy targeting the novice. But they are entitled. Think like a professional to save money and get quality results.

I have a deluxe steering wheel for a 67 that has a few cracks. I would like to repair if possible. What is the best way to repair?

First, locate some "old style" PC7 2 part gray epoxy. Sand the wheel down to the plastic. Vee out the cracks with a file or dremel tool. Fill the cracks with the PC7,feathering the epoxy out past the crack area. Sand it down, and blend in the repair area with the rest of the wheel. Prime the wheel with high build primer. Apply a guide coat, and sand. Repeat this process until it all looks uniform. I used to then apply a couple of coats of urethane enamel. If you follow these steps, the wheel will look like new, and the repair will last for years.

Looks like the Eastwood kit includes the correct PC7 epoxy.
