So I have a small leak at the kickdown to tranny spot on my th350.
Could someone give me a quick rundown on how to replace the seal?

Can I do this without dropping the pan?

Thanks.

You can replace the kickdown seal without dropping the pan, but if you wind up dropping the pan, that would be a good time to tap a tranny drain plug into it and change the filter.

To replace the seal, take the one bolt out (with a clean recovery pan below) and then use a pair of needle nose or small vice-grips to turn the end of the cable off the pig tail trans wire. It's definately tricky, but once you get it, you will be able to do it in the future in half the time.

It helps to disconnect it up top first.

check the round rubber o ring there at the same time, replace if its nicked at all. :) see our Tool section for a cool homemade wrench for getting at those pesky tranny line nuts if they ever need tightening too :)
