Hey guys, I am working on my '69 Camaro that I've had for about a year now. It was in great shape as I picked it up from California but I've decided to fix some of the body work, replace some metal and get it painted. Ive seen some nice drl/signal lights but can't find aftermarket ones anywhere. I've considered finding a universal set that are close to the same size and retrofitting them in and actually making them just fog lamps instead of signals.

All the repro houses have the front driving/signal lights. Have you checked with NPD, or Ground Up?

I dont want a factory repro. I am going more into the custom stuff. Looking to make these HID to match my headlights, and be strictly fogs not signals.

A couple of years ago my wife bought a set of lights from Morris Classic Concepts for my car. They are $160 and have an outer ring that lights the same color as my car.

They are wired to the high beam switch for the driving lights. The light ring has its own switch.

Now thats what i've been looking for! Thanks! How hard is it to wire? And do you think it would be possible to replace the bulb with a HID bulb and run these lights to a switch so that I could use them as fog lamps on modern day vehicles?

If your interested in HID lighting you will find alot of info in this section camaro tech under thread H.I.D. headlights that is very informative. I learned more about them reading this thread than anywhere else in the last few years. Great info

They are very easy to install. There also is an amber bulb inside for directionals. I don't know if High Intensity Discharge bulbs will work. From what I can remember the installation took about an hour and a half. The only complaint I have is, the wire for the ring light switch is too short to reach the dash if you route it between the fender and fenderwell. The only clean way to install. I ended up having to splice in a length of wire. Other than that no other complaints.

Do you have any pics of them on at night? Well depending on the size of the amber bulbs, HIDs should work no problem. I dont know if i'll need to change my stock wiring if i was to run HID headlights & fogs but since I HIGHLY doubt anyones tried that, I will have to just see what happens.

As soon as it stops raining I can turn my car around a try to get a picture.

Was searching for the same kind of info...thanks. I currently have the frt sheet metal off my 69 and was wanting to update the frt signal/park lamps. I saw a 69 a few years ago at GoodGuys Columbus that along with a million other changes had them and thought what a great small upgrade!!! Thanks for the info!!

Yeah! They really do a big difference to the front end. And look so much better!
