I had a posts about a month ago about "too much compression" if anyone remembers. It is a 350, .060 over, balanced 4-bolt, decked block, cast iron GM crank, angle plug #3991492 camel back heads, TRW 11.7:1 pistons, 1.5 aluminum roller rockers, solid cam with .483/.507 lift, air gap intake, and Holley 750. It made 404 hp. and 415 ft. pds. of torque on 100 octane. Seems like a good $2,000.00 purchase. I'm thinking that's not bad. Matched with my built turbo 350 and 3:73 gears, the 68 should go alright, shouldn't it?

Should run mid to low 12s if the car is set up right, and not too heavy. Whats the duration?

The duration is 280/288 on the cam. The guy I bought it from had a Victor Jr. on it. He claimed it made 425 hp. I guess he was telling the truth. I swapped it to the air gap and lost a little. WOW, isn't that great that there is honest people out there!!!

What do you mean you lost a little, I am assuming on top end.

I have the exact same build in my 69. I change from a 750 to a 650 DP, car ran much better.

I think that combo is a great street combo.

I find it hard to believe that it made 404hp. Was the DYNO shop a reputable shop? If I were to guess I would say around 360 or so.

YES, the DYNO shop was reputable. I was around the five thousanth motor he's done. People I've known for years use this engine shop. From Wissota modified dirt cars to 7 second drag cars. What benefit of his does it matter what my horsepower is? None! The first pull was 381 hp. After tweaking timing, carb., spacers, etc., he got it to 404hp. I saw it all with my own eyes and have the papers to prove it. Looks like you've been underestimating yours. If you want his number and address for yours, let me know!
