In May of 1993 at the ripe old age of 15 with the help of my father I purchased a 1969 Z/28. Hugger orange with white rally stripes. The car had a 350 probably 325 hp if I was lucky and a 4 speed of course. Not knowing a thing about cars I took the car apart. I mean completely apart. 2 1/2 years later with a lot of help from Dad the car was back together and I only had 2 boxes of mystery parts left over. Let see, I blew up 3 muncie's one rear, one clutch, and an engine and a half. Built a 383 about 400hp then a 406 @ 485hp, 502 lbft and switched to an automatic. It is a "real" Z/28 but obviously no matching #'s. I'm 31, the car has been sitting in my parents garage for years and goes out a few times a year to do some burnouts and short drives. Its a nice Hot Rod, runs high 11's looks and sounds great but I'm ready for an adventure.

I'm going to build a pro-touring car. I've been researching for a few weeks and I have a great idea of what I want. These forums look great and you will probably be hearing a lot from me.

"Project Stonetown"

Flat Black paint scheme, Carbon Fiber hood. Add a RS grill, large displacement LSX (supercharged). 6 speed manual. New Subframe and suspension components( I need help here guys) Fattest satin black wheels I can fit with the stickiest tires I can buy. Best brakes I can get. New interior. I plan on outsourcing a lot of the work. Well there is my intro, I'll add some pictures of the car now and keep everyone up to date. I'll need some help with a lot of this stuff but this looks like a good place to get it

PS. I paid back every penny I borrowed from Dad to buy the car although I probably still owe him for some of the stuff I broke but we stopped keeping track a long time ago

Welcome to Team Camaro, this car has some history is your dad going to help you again.I never would have finished it the 1st time without him and he enjoys it and I think it brings him back to his youth. So he's going to be as involved as he wants. I'm going to outsource a lot of the work this time because I want a professional job but I'm asking for his input on everything. I'm 31 now and this is a great opportunity to bring us closer together again. And he's almost as excited as I am about the project.

Here she is. Pretty nice car actually. I've been losing sleep over what to do about the color. I had a dream car when I was a kid and thats what I plan on building. But when it comes down to it, I'm going to have a hard time not keeping the original color. My life has been mostly about work the past few years and I've been lacking something. Although I have yet to turn a wrench, I can begin to explain my enthusiasm, passion and excitement of this project. And I'm much better prepared this time. Both financially and more importantly having built a once already, knowing what to expect and how things take longer, cost more and don't always come out right the 1st, 2nd or 3rd time.

I probably spent (no lie) 200 hours online since Christmas week maybe more. On these forums as well as Lateral-G and Pro-touring. As well as other sights before I found the forums. I remember being amazed in 1994 that I could still buy a new pulley or fender. I've been out of the game for a few years and I'm very impressed with the community of Camaro and car owners and everything that is available. I'm narrowing it down now as far as the precise direction I'm going to get started. This weekend coming up, weather permitting I'm going to take her out for one last romp. I'm going to take a bunch of pictures. I decided last night to really record the entire process. Through-out my project thread I plan on sharing stories about her 1st life. This is a famiy site This is an exciting time!
