does any one have part # for camaro luggage rack??? some one told me 68-69 corvette was the same is this true ?? thanks for any info.

This is almost as bad as putting a trailer hitch on a first gen...JMO...

No true. The dealer installed "Deck Lid Carrier" for the 67-68 Camaro was P/N 987254. For the 69 Camaro it was was P/N 993645. For the 68-69 Corvette it was P/N 993737.

69 rack was different than 68 rack, as it had rosewood inserts on the horizontal rungs vs walnut inserts. P/N was 993645, fit Nova, Camaro, Firebird, and Chevrolet.

When I saw this thread thought, OK I have a tow bar..not the ugly flimsy bitof GM rubbish thu...thats ok, But a trunk rack...no way!!!
But seeing the pic, I like it, suits the car era, notlagic look.
Not for every 1st gen, but one going with the orginal lines, colour theme...yeah I like it.

Too bad they never made a Camaro station wagon complete with fake woodgrain on the sides. Then nobody would need a luggage rack.....:noway:
