Can't read the tag very well, but it doesn't look like a real tag for that matter. Not an RS either. Nice floor mats though.

there doesn't appear to be anything correct for a Z28 on that car.. except perhaps the cowl tag... obviously not installed on that car from the factory....

It looks like a 12? build date but tough to read. Vin would be a June car.

isn't that "Z-28" badge too far to the center? If you can't get that right, you simply don't care much about the car, imo... At this point, I don't think I'd ever buy a Z-28 that didn't have a COMPLETE history. what a shame.

That lever is for the reverse lock out . It was stock on 69 four speed cars. Most guys took the rod off. To get the key out you had to put it into reverse and the column would rotate and lock.
That car is not even close. He even has the wrong trim rings.

I would buy it just for the floor mats! No corners cut ???? is he for real? nice anti freeze leak on the intake he has I guess the only corner he cut was the "one size fits all" upper rad hose..... god do I love ebay!

Tag is a repop

Seller says in the auction - bought this car as a REAL Z car, but I cannot gurantee if it is or not.

Like that was some kind of statement, "I was fooled to believe I bought a Z/28, now I want to sell it to another fool" :clonk:

The auto and 3 speed manual cars have the lockout too; it was a "new for 69" feature. Autos had to be in the "park" position to get the key out.

Power discs were a mandatory option, which this car is lacking, among many other things. It would seem this person was duped himself and is trying to pass this car off and also attempting to cover himself with his brief disclaimer. Unfortunately, someone may just buy it and suffer the consequences yet again.

The tag is hard to see but looks real to me ... never seen one put on with a rivit through a big washer... looks like a washer with a rivit doesn't it ?

All in all looks like a car that could be cleaned up pretty easy .Even a repro open element air cleaner would make a large diffrence in the engine compartment . Any round shifter knob in black .I like the black with the red stripes. Too bad they put RS headlights on a a non RS car. For the right price could be a decent car... 10 bolt kind of kills any buzz.

Do I see 12B body date? If so, does not line up with vin. Look at the bidding history and time , who ever started it, was basically bidding against him self, to a point.

is that roofing tar in the trunk?

I thought so to, Also 10 bolt drum brakes, rear Z.
Back in 77 or 78 I talked to a Chevy enigneer he said " If I had a nickel for every
Z/28 embelm sold I could retire" . Now he could live on the French Rivera.

Just wonder how that spare tie down bolt is hooked? Not even suppose to be a hook there.

Prolly a 12" carriage bolt thru the floor.

If you look at automatic bids it tells a different story. I don't understand why the first bidder (0 feedback) out bid the other one (687 feedback) or how he holds it at the same price as the second guys bid. I guess it don't matter to me because I wouldn't buy a classic off ebay any way. This car is a fine example why.

Now I know how to win a show... just spraypaint everything gloss black!
And always make sure to touch up the replacement cowl tag letters with some white.

Scary for sure and can only hope that someone does not buy thinking they are stealing an orig z car :(

well it does have some bid activity unlike the 67 plymouth in his other auction. I think if i would ever buy another i would insist on seeing the hidden vins before handing over cash
