Confused on the X11 code on a '69. Here are the numbers:ST69 12437N245*** TR 721 59 S, 013 X-11. I know it was originally green and it's a rally sport but could it also be a RS/SS 350 and how could that be determined? Thanks for your input!

X11 just means it had a trim level option..wheel whell chrome, rocker chrome and so on..doesnt mean it was an ss, it was just a level of trim that was offered..

X11 was just a non-SS396, non-Z28 car with Style Trim. Could have been an L6, base or optional small block V8, or an SS350 car.

First, what is the VIN on the dash? If it starts with 124 (and is original to the car), then it was at least a V8 car.

How many fuel lines, one or two?

What rear axle, 10-bolt or 12-bolt, and is it original to the car?

What trans, and is it original to the car?

Does it have a welded on plate on the driver side frame rail, behind the wheel?

Does it have an SS hood and 28 coil hood springs?

Those are just some of the clues to get started.

Okay, so it was at least a V8 car. Look for the other clues, and write down and post numbers off the axle housing, etc. Good reading here:

X11 did mean style trim, but since style trim was part of the RS package, it "could" have been RS. Since all SS350 with style trim were X11, it "could" have be SS350. The things other guys have told you to look for will help rule in or rule out SS350.

I think the CRG says that only 10% of X-11 cars were ss350'S. Maybe yours is one...!!
