I believe that's a real tag, and it's a good pairing with that VIN.

The tt and vin match. I would want to see the hiddens vins as well. But that is a lot of money. Who says pricies are falling?

Thanks for the replies the hidden vin's match the VIN to the car, but that doesn't prove its a Z,it just proves nobody has changed the VIN tag. I'm still thinking by the looks of it the tag is a fake. :confused:

Looks good, seller has good repor with buyers and sellers on ebay. most of his purchases and sales are christian books and stuff of that nature. If he is incorrect I what not think he was aware of it.

I'm curious why you insist the tag isn't real. The experts here know how to spot a fake. Not all factory tags are perfect either. Here is a pic of the tag on my old 69 Z/28. The stamping was obviously not lined up properly on the tag blank when it was made. See where the 69 is stamped almost on top of the ST in the upper left corner ? This tag has never been off the car since day one. When I bought the car in the early 80s repro tags hadn't even been invented yet, and the tag has been verified by Kurt of CRG to be the real deal. I think the TT is real. The DZ stamp looks a little suspect. Hoopefully Kurt S or Mark C will chime in.

I dislike making calls on tags these days..... That said, tag itself looks reasonable but I dislike the lack of sealant in the rivets.

Pad looks questionable, but I'd need a better pic to make a real call on it.
