I'm building a 400 small block, hopefully at least 400 hp, and probably not more than 6000 RPM.

I have a set of reconditioned 350 rods, with stock bolts (yes, I did purchase pistons for the 5.7" length - they're KB).

I'd like the short-block to be stout, just in case I try different combos on top. But, I don't want to waste money.

Should I use these rods, or spring for something better? If something better, got a recommendation?

They should be fine!!! I have friends in the 10's on them ;)

They should be fine but I would spring $50 for good ARP rod bolts instead of the stock ones. Cheap insurance.

Stock rods are probably OK if get some ARP bolts.
