I have purchased a 700r4 trans and I have a question. The stock console is for a 3 speed so what do I use for the correct gear selection and will the stock shifter work? Thanks for helping me out. I'm sure to a lot of you this is a dumb question but my short bus just dropped me off, lol.

You don't mention what year your car is, but from your other posts it sound like you have a '69?
There are a few companies that make kits to adapt the stock horseshoe shifter to work with a 4-speed auto and this is the easiest (but maybe not the cheapest) option. Alternatively, you could modify the detent plate for the shifter yourself by welding/grinding the "stops" to get them in the right position.
Probably several different vendors out there, but off the top of my head, here are some links from Rick's:

Yes it is a 69 and thanks for the info. Is there something that shows the correct gears instead of the stock P R N 3 2 1. I will now need an OD correct?

Yes, get the shiftworks kit. I too converted to a 700R4 in my 68RS and the kit had everything I needed.
