My 69 standard interior came with clear (now dingy tan). I think earlier years came with black knobs.

My 68 convertible with standard interior came with window cranks with the knobs matching the interior, in my case ivy gold.

Haven't been able to find replacements, anyone?

I think some colors aren't available. I haven't seen any turquoise repros for mine so I'm running cheapo clears in front. :(

I have been thinking about getting a set of white and having them dyed but , from what have been told the it won't hold up very well if uded much.

I believe std. interior came with black and deluxe came with clear but to be sure check out CRG. They explain this over at the Camaro Research Group (CRG) site www.camaros.org
The website is down right now or I would have copied the information over. These cranks also come (without for std. interior or) with a wider curve to allow easier turning with the thicker deluxe door panels.

I am 95% sure 69s all had the clear knobs, regardless of interior color. Colored knobs are a 67-68 thing.

the issue here is not std vs. deluxe it's 67 vs. 68 69
67's had colorfull interior's and had window crank knob's that matched the color of the interior , 68's & 69's used more of the either black or clear knob's , not to say that colored knob's were not offered in 68 69 but the black and clear one's seam to be more common ,
if you own a 67 and want colored knob's correct like they were from the factory they make them now but the companie's refuse to admit that 67 corvette and 67 camaro window crank's are the same  the corvette companie's have the 67 one's in stock in all the color's now here is a link ,

http://www.licorvette.com/window_vent_cranks_corvette.htm

I even emailed them and asked why they are not offering these to camaro folk's ? they say they are different  67 camaro GM part number is 5719477 67 corvette GM part number is 5719477  but they are different

I picked up NOS clear ones, one or two at a time off ebay a few years ago. I think I paid $20-25/ea for them. Alll 4 are the same, but I've been told that the rears should be different. Seems like the rears should be out from the interior panel more than the fronts. Can someone confirm?

The more expensive kit sold by the parts houses are different than the ones sold by local parts stores. The rear ones do set up higher to clear the back panel. They are also stamped with the GM # and they are different for the rear.

So what is the conclusion to this post

I'd say posts 11-13 by Eric & Brad pretty well summed it up.

My '68 deluxe black interior has black knobs. Didn't notice any difference between fronts & backs.... gotta check that out...

so what's the part numbers to order from the parts houses in order to get the ones set up higher for the back deluxe panels?

I now know the two NOS rear ones on my car are incorrect, as they are identical to the fronts. However, I do not have an interference problem with the rear interior panels, so they're staying.....unless, of course someone has two NOS rear ones to trade. :)

I've been told all the re-pro handles are made with more offset so they'll fit front or rear to help stop the confusion.

the part number's for the 67 crank's are
#5719477 for the flat less curved one's

and #9702932 for the one's that stick out further

I don't know the number's for 68 69 here is a pic of how much different they are

ALL 69's had clear knobs. :)

The number cast into the back side of the handle is the CASTING number for the handle, not the PART number for the finished assembly; the type/color of the knob determines the finished part number.
